Storyboarding is a way to develop your story and its characters, and was originally used primarily as a tool on animation features. Now almost all live action movies use storyboarding to visualise scenes before the expensive shoot takes place. Why should you spend money on storyboarding? It can be considered an expensive writing tool, but it’s a very inexpensive production tool. A storyboard will indicate what you don’t need to spend money on and will cut out a lot of unnecessary work. Storyboarding is a filmmaker’s greatest tool!
When creating storyboards at Idenna, our plan is to get everyone on the same page so that when it comes to the shoot we know exactly what needs to happen next, thus saving time. We also like to show our clients how we imagine their product or brand; it’s a creative cauldron where amazing ideas are conjured. The great thing about storyboards is that they can be changed at any time with ease, better to do it this way than find yourself having to think about a potentially expensive re-shoot. Ultimately storyboarding is about the story and to be a good storyboarder you have to be a good storyteller. Here at Idenna we pride ourselves on being great storytellers, so if you have a story to tell, we have the people and tools to get it heard. Your story out there.
