The Nutty Duck
Brief
We love a full service brief, so were stoked when one of our existing clients, Trevalsa Court Hotel, asked to help launch their new restaurant. Along with building the website and creating the branding, we were also briefed to help think of a name for the new foodie hot spot, which ended up being The Nutty Duck (you know us, there’s a story behind everything – make sure you ask where the name comes from when you’re there next). Looking to emphasise the restaurant as the place to enjoy delicious food, even if you aren’t staying at Trevalsa, we needed to build an appropriately polished site and engaging social campaigns to really raise some awareness and reach a wider audience than the hotel guests.
The Plot
Working alongside the Nutty Duck team, we began by establishing a brand identity that differentiated the new restaurant from the hotel. With its great view and even better food, The Nutty Duck is ideal for celebrating life’s special occasions, so the brand and website we created visually represented the simplicity of the restaurant’s appeal. Contemporary yet instantly recognisable; familiar enough to accompany pre-existing Trevalsa graphics yet strong enough to stand alone.
Equipped with this new voice, we set about getting the name and freshly designed logo out into the world. Using Trevalsa’s pre-existing audience base, we launched targeted social campaigns to raise awareness for the restaurant’s launch. Tempting social campaigns leading up to the big launch and regular newsletters resulted in impressive engagement figures through social media competitions and a great base for future marketing.
What happened next?
The Nutty Duck is now a must-do for any stay at Trevalsa, as well as a popular Cornish restaurant in its own right. Since the launch, we’ve been working closely with The Nutty Duck to curate a suite of mouth-watering content to maintain their growing social presence, including snaps of the chefs and local produce used to help tell the restaurant’s story, and their range of delicious dishes (of course). We continue to manage The Nutty Duck’s marketing concurrently to the work we do for the hotel, constantly producing social content, newsletters and film/photography content to keep The Nutty Duck connected with its customers.
