St Ewe Eggs
Brief
Warning: egg puns ahead. St Ewe Eggs, one of the West Country’s market leaders in free-range egg production, contacted us needing a film to showcase the company’s uniquely ethical, grassroots and family-orientated approach to farming.
Ultimately, they wanted to use the film to give potential stockists and retailers a real sense of who St Ewe Eggs are, all whisked up into an entertaining and digestible format.
The Plot
Time constrictions and chicken availability (a first for us…) meant that the Idenna film crew had to quickly hop down to St Ewe’s 70-acre farm to capture as much footage of the egg-laying ladies as they could.
Fortunately, this gave us a real hands-on experience of the farm and insight into the people behind the business, which translated into an informed, creative concept for the brand film – ‘getting out what you put in.’ It was clear that this concept ran through the entire business; great ingredients make great food, great hen welfare makes great eggs and great team members make a great business. That’s what we wanted to reflect.
We pitched a story-led, Chef’s Table inspired brand film that would walk the viewer through the St Ewe origin story, right from their roots to where they are today. The film features St Ewe CEO Bex as the main voiceover with a b-plot recipe story using St Ewe eggs running alongside.
What happened next?
We served the film up to the St Ewe Eggs team – and some of them got teary when watching it! The cinematic, documentary-style piece is now used whenever St Ewe need to get their story across. We also edited some shorter, social cut-downs of some of the eggcellent footage that we captured to further increase the longevity and reach of the film – check it out for yourself below!
Witnessing such an overwhelming reaction to our work is always energising. But hey, that’s what we cock-a-doodle-do.
