Brief
Colan Manor is the home of Ross and Sarah, a couple who left the big city to chase a Cornish dream with their business venture; Gorgeous Places To Stay. Purchasing and refurbishing a 373-year old, Grade 2 listed estate in 2017, they offer a 7-bedroom holiday rental for getaways, weddings and more. After refurbishing the property, they decided that their website needed a refurb too, to showcase what an incredible venue they now have.
The Plot
We were initially approached to make updates to the company’s legacy website – but it soon became apparent that a completely fresh look would show off the property at its best. Ross and Sarah wanted a photo-led site that would bring a fresh, modern balance to the beautifully historic style of the estate. Our Graphic Designer Ali created some sample pages, focusing on an elegant, minimal style that combined the traditional, classic elements of the house with sleek, luxurious styling. We then offered a staged web-build, with Designer Josie initially publishing a homepage (with essential information and contact details) while she worked on the additional content and functionality, such as an availability calendar, information about the property itself and stunning imagery to show off Colan Manor in all its glory.
What happened next?
Our archive of beautiful photography showcases the estate as the ultimate venue for a Cornish getaway or special occasion. Gorgeous Places To Stay now has a sleek, mobile-responsive website which Ross and Sarah can update and manage independently.
