It’s my last day on the Idenna team. I sit here, in my final hour at my desk, feeling reflective. I’m excited about my next adventure (teaching dance full time) but sad to say goodbye to this team; my colleagues, advisors, supporters, friends… sometimes therapists! I’ve worked in many teams during my employment life and I’m not such an emotional soul, I don’t find goodbyes difficult. But this REALLY is a hard bunch to leave.
Looking around our open-planned office I see the usual Idenna mayhem. The words team busily typing, film and photography and design producers editing impressive visuals and the Creative Director in between producers and his laptop, everyone enthusiastically asking or offering advice, throwing ideas around the room and sharing the odd joke. Buster the dog is contently moving from desk-to-desk depending on who’s got an apple core for him.
There’s a great vibe here. There always is. The difference between this team and most is, not only are they uber talented, they genuinely give a sh*t. They care about each other, the projects they are working on, the clients they have and they care about Idenna. Everyone is motivated and it ripples through the room. The clever recruitment process here has resulted in, not only a multi-skilled team who are experts in their field, but a range of personalities and behaviours who gel so well you’d think they were all friends from way back. It works brilliantly.
I’ll miss the rarity of waking up and wanting to see everyone in my team, whose professional judgment I can rely on without exception. If you ever have a chance to work with this team, be it as a client or employee, I would highly recommend it.
